We are excited to announce the second annual Good Friday AFL Round 2 Match – ‘Kick for the Kids’!
After the success of last years inaugural game, the Kick for the Kids AFL football match will be played at Etihad Stadium on Good Friday between the North Melbourne Football Club and the St Kilda Football Club.
$5 from adult tickets and $10 from family tickets sold will go directly to the Appeal. We are looking forward to making this match a critical part of the Victorian community fundraising efforts for the Good Friday Appeal.
Just like the AFL, the Good Friday Appeal is the fabric of the Victorian community and we are excited to further enhance this already wonderful Appeal and raise much-needed funds to support the work of The Royal Children’s Hospital.
The Good Friday Appeal and AFL are intrinsically linked, with the first Appeal in 1931 being a veterans football match to raise funds for sick kids.
With the match kicking off at 4.20pm, families can still enjoy all the fun of the Good Friday Appeal Kids Day Out at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and then catch the game at Etihad Stadium.
The match will be shown as part of the Seven Network Good Friday Appeal telecast from 4 pm to 7 pm on Channel 7.
Stay tuned as there will be more AFL initiatives announced in the coming weeks to support this year’s Appeal.
On Good Friday at Etihad be sure to look out for the official Good Friday Appeal merchandise, purple bunny ears! Grab a set to show your support as proceeds go to the Appeal. Don’t forget to snap and share your bunny ear pics #goodfridayappeal
We are proud to work with Shout and ANZ Bank at this year’s Kick for the Kids to provide a cashless way to donate on the day alongside our tin rattling. Look out for volunteers holding the ANZ Shout Blade Pay for an easy way to donate.
